Appeal for Sponsored Knitters Last year The Lions Club of Plymouth annual Sponsored Knit in it raised over £2000.00 for Charity and we are appealing for any one who can knit and get sponsors to help knit squares which will be sewn together into blankets and sent to an orphanage in Lusaka in Africa. This year the Sponsored Knit in event will take place on the 27th March at Emmanuel Church hall there are refreshment and prizes for the knitters. It doesn't matter about knitting ability as help will be given, any age either sex everyone welcome. This year our two main charities will be "Break Through Breast Cancer" and "To Make a Wish" which will pay for a holiday, or some other request, from a terminally ill child. SANTA VISITS PLYMOUTH WITH THE HELP OF THE LIONS CLUB OF PLYMOUTH Lions club of Plymouth helped Santa get around Plymouth visiting homes throughout the City in the two weeks leading up to Christmas meeting children and listening to their requests. whilst lion members collected money for local charities. |

Lions Club of Plymouth “Badged up” its first Lady Lion. 
On Monday 22nd June 2009 Lion President Ted Clarke and all Lion members of the Lions Club of Plymouth warmly welcomed Debbie Willcocks in a “Badging up” ceremony. Debbie whose Lion Husband Barry was delighted as Lion Debbie is the first Lady Lion in the Plymouth club. |
